Conceived as a new dwelling for a young couple, the clients’ brief requested for a complete rearrangement of the flat’s plan, where its design can revolve entirely around their lifestyles. Through its open layout configuration, users are welcomed into an expansive overview of the apartment, encompassing the living, dining, and reading quarters.
A customised right angle seating docks neatly across the pocket space, facing a bespoke dining setup. The composed framing into the inner quarters is made possible with an elongated oak portal, forming a new passageway of experience. Leading to the key focal point of this project—is the design of a biophilic feature that is accentuated by a raw, untreated slab of statuario marble. The stone’s ragged edges symbolise its embodiment of imperfection, paying homage to the genesis of materials.
