The Most Beautiful Homes of 2022—Elle Decor
Nestled along a quiet road within the city’s fringe, the design direction of this duplex apartment sought to achieve a perpetual essentialism, working in tandem with its architectural qualities.
The house is minimally composed to flow with its leafy surroundings, eliminating all forms of clutter and distraction. An open plan configuration blurs the barrier between indoor and outdoor, conveying a continuous experience for guests and homeowners. Primarily rendered in ash wood, marble, and lime-washed textures, the interior space is complemented with a mix of understated furnishings, enabling a continuous dialogue between the living, dining, and patio areas. Embodying the studio’s aesthetics, an unobtrusive portal that overlooks the double-volume space is neatly anchored to conceal entrances to the public washroom and back-of-house, offering additional depth to the rectilinear profile.
Seated above the apartment are the private quarters to the master, study, and children rooms. Every room is carefully considered for the homeowners’ lifestyles, and the space portrays an understated, warm ambiance, where the clients’ personality and style blends seamlessly with its architecture and interior design.
